Rochester police responded to a shooting at the victim’s home early Monday morning.

It happened in the one hundred block of Avenue B just before 2 a.m.

When police arrived they found a 37-year-old man near a doorway toward the back of the home. Investigators said the victim had at least one gunshot wound to the torso.

“We don’t have anybody in custody. We do have a pretty vague description that we are working with and we’re talking with the people in the neighborhood to see if anybody can confirm and point us in the right direction as to what happened here,” said Rochester Police Captain John Koonmen.

The victim went to Strong Hospital for treatment. Police have not yet released the man’s name.
